Giotto Stoppino was born in Vigevano in 1926. The Italian designer is known as one of the first designers to use plastic in his designs for brands such as Driade and Kartell. In 1968, Stoppino opened a studio in which he devoted himself mainly to designing houses where collaborations took place with the Italian brands Acerbis, Driade, Kartell and Zanotta, among others. Giotto Stoppino won the Compasso d'Oro three times, including for the Sheraton Sideboard for Acerbis in 1979.
