The design classic among sofa beds
This completely renovated sofa bed by Gijs van der Sluis (read Martin Visser) has been rebuilt from high-quality pantera cold foam, new webbing (seat straps) and is upholstered in the beautiful flat weave of the Scottish manufacturer Bute (Tweed) in 100% wool.
Because all the materials have been replaced from the back and seat, the sofa is new, but you still have a sofa with a vintage look.
This sofa can be completed with an armrest and can be upholstered in the desired color for €275,00, this can also be commissioned!

This beautiful, sleek sofa is just like its contemporaries in an ingeniously simple way to make from sofa to bed by one hand movement.
The frame of the sofa is completely black and in good condition for a sofa of that age. All rotating parts are lubricated and work completely and effortlessly.
Gijs van der Sluis enjoyed a secondary technical education and is self-taught with regard to architecture and design. Gijs van der Sluis was the man in charge of the family business "Van der Sluis Steel Furniture" from 1950 to 1990. He was the house designer and took care of the well running timeless chairs and of course the famous sofa bed.
He was very successful and his vision was the reason the family business prospered during these years. The sofa bed with serial number 540 is one of his models, which has never changed and is still sold by the Casala under the name Siesta.
