Gérard Joseph Grassère (1915 - 1993) was a Dutch painter. He completed his artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Later he studied in Paris. One of his most important teachers at the academy in Antwerp was Isidore Opsomer.
In the beginning (1940-1950) he expressed himself in a figurative - expressionistic way of painting. Later he broadened his palette and painted mainly abstract (in the Cobra - style), such as this painting.
