Lounge armchair 601 “Meneer Oberman” designed by Jan des Bouvrie for Gelderland, 1970s-1980s Netherlands. The comfortable armchair has a frame of brushed steel tubes, a saddle leather seat, black leather cushions and leather armrests. Jan Antoon des Bouvrie (1942-2020) was a Dutch interior designer. The lounge armchair with fantastic seat is named after the founder of the Gelderland factory.
The leather, cushions and leather seat are in a beautiful vintage condition. No damage to the leather and the cushions are still nice and firm. The leather armrests are in beautiful condition. The steel frame has traces of use in the form of scratches at the top of the backrest and light rust formation on the front.
