Garden Globe Chair by Peter Opsvik for Varier/Stokke. Designed in 1985 as part of the Globe Concept. The design idea was that you climb up the branches of a tree and can sit down in the crown. The Garden armchair by Peter Opsvik comes very close to this experience. The seat and all the globes can be rotated. This armchair successfully does away with traditional sitting habits and gives the body more freedom to move. More a statement of art than a piece of seating furniture. And yet the Garden offers numerous comfortable sitting positions. Also known as "Worf's Chair" as the armchair of the Klingon Lieutenant Worf in the television series "Starship Enterprise, The Next Century". There was also a "guest appearance" in the series "Friends". Good used condition. Stand with signs of wear. Seat and 2 balls newly upholstered. 2 replaced furniture glides. Non-smoking object. Dimensions: H: 185cm, seat height 115cm, width: approx. 95cm, depth: approx. 128cm.
