Fulvio Bianconi for Venini, floor lamp, glass, Italy, circa 1960
A truly magnificent Italian floor lamp designed by the multidisciplinary artist Fulvio Bianconi (1915-1996)
for the esteemed glass company Venini where he worked on a freelance basis.
His background as a visual artist, inspired by modern art, graphic design and fashion, has led to this iconic light object. A refined construction consisting of a stem with a wider top and base that gradually narrows towards the middle. The alternation of opaque green and blue glass creates a pronounced color contrast that serves the human gaze in an aesthetic way.
