The Toio Floor Lamp by FLOS is a floor lamp designed in 1962 by renowned Italian designers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. The Toio provides indirect diffused light that spreads a warm glow throughout the room. The minimalist design of the Toio is a bold composition of components that do not immediately seem to belong in the context of design lighting: the headlight of a car is used as the light source; this is combined with an open transformer, some steel profiles and the steel eyes of a fishing rod. The headlight's prismatic diffuser uniquely diffuses the Toio's light across the ceiling and wall. The design is simple, modest and subtle. This is precisely why the Toio attracts attention.
