Product description
Five Murano glass fixture by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte, Murano, Venice Italy. Brass fixture and solid glass in stunning subtle colors, from yellow till blue. Total length a light (metal cylinder with the glass): 7.7 in. (19,5 cm), height glass 3.1 in. (8 cm), diameter glass 6.9 inches (17,5 cm). Dimensions: height ceiling till drop 62.0 in. (158 cm), diameter star-fixture: 9.8 inches (25 cm). The height of each shade can be adjusted through the canopy. Weight about 8 kilo. The fixture is equipped with five small Edison screw sockets (SES), (E17 14-17 mm) max 40 watt. All electric parts are renewed. Works in the USA. This particular chandelier with the pointy shape shades is believed to be designed around 1955 and belongs to Poli's most beautiful and rare pieces. The shades are blown from thick crystal glass. The glass shades are interchangeable, so the lamp can be configured in different ways. Beautiful condition. Flavio Poli (1900-1984) was trained as a ceramist, but entered into glass design when he joined the I.V.A.M Glassworks on the island of Murano in 1929. From 1934 on he continued his career at the neighbouring Seguso Glassworks, which was founded two years earlier by Archimede Seguso, Luigi Olimpio Ferro and Napoleone Barovier. Succeeding Vittorio Zecchin, Poli was appointed as artistic director of the company in 1937. In this capacity Poli participated in all Milan Triennials between 1936 and 1960. In 1954 he received one of the very first Compasso d'Oro Awards for his revolutionary 'Sommerso' glass. Poli retired from Seguso in 1963. Notice: first you have to mount the fixture to the ceiling and determine the height and configuration by lengthening or shortening the wire. Only install (turn) the glass shade at the last moment when everything is hanging. The glass is heavy and there is a risk that it will be damaged if it touches each other. I therefore ship it disassembled. Please be careful, the glass is now in perfect condition without any damage. And they are so rare.

Very good. Rewired. Wear consistent with age and use.
