The Fjord - Swivel Armchair was designed by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso. The Italian label has been around since 1952 and is a true family business. Moroso has developed into a beloved brand for chairs and other seating furniture thanks to bold designs and foresight. The range shows influences from modern art movements and contemporary fashion trends. The Fjord - Swivel Chair dates back to 2002, when designer Urquiola created her more extensive Fjord collection. The first thing that stands out about this quirky chair is, of course, the half-back. Because the armchair has a width of 95 cm, this characteristic design does not affect its comfort. Indeed, the divergent design offers the possibility to sit in the chair in multiple relaxed ways. A wide base ensures that the Fjord - Swivel Chair stays firmly on the ground and cannot fall over. The chair has a steel frame, fitted with a padding of soft cold foam. Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola was born in 1961. After studying architecture at the universities of Madrid and Milan, she founded her own studio in 2001. Urquiola received a Red Dot Award and a Good Design Award for her diverse design products, among others.
