Fischel chair from 1910
When in 1869 Thonet's patent for making bentwood furniture expired, D.G. Fischel & Söhne was founded by David Gabriel Fischel in Niemes (Mimon, Czech Republic) and also became involved in the manufacture of bentwood furniture. By 1913, Fischel also had a branch in Vienna. In 1939, production ceased. Much of the furniture produced by Fischel is identical to the Thonet models.
Chair is over 100 years old so obviously has signs of use; nevertheless in good condition and features new webbing.
