Product description
Extremely rare chair designed by Radomir Hofman for Ton in 1967 for the EXPO exhibition in Toronto. These chairs were designed for this specific event and manufactured in limited series in the late 1960s under catalog number 615 323 1650 by Thonet successor company TON, former Czechoslovakia. The chair is in very good original condition, structurally sound. Height 86 cm, width 58 cm, depth 52 cm, seat height 45 cm. In the 1960s, the TON company asked several architects to help develop new design forms. This model designed in 1967 is considered by many to be the best example of the research into the technology of bentwood. Among other things, it was selected for the offices in the Czechoslovak pavilion at the 1967 Expo in Montreal and for the restaurant in the Czechoslovak pavilion at the Expo in Osaka, 1970.

some minor stains and tears but very clean compared to the age of the chair.
