The etching "out of bed" was intuitively drawn by Michel. Michel in 1992 (I think ) is in the "latter days" of his etching - in fact, he has drawn and etched everything; since 1966, etching has dominated much of his creative life. Michel made about 500 etchings until about 1996 and several dozen more after 1996. His etchings become a kind of dreams, in which fragments are placed together that are sometimes connected and sometimes not. The beauty is that the viewer is intuitively taken along by Michel's story in his etching. You keep looking at this etching with fascination and each time new associations arise in you, the viewer. You look for something to hold on to and therefore the etching does not quickly become boring. The gold on the black bed is real gold leaf. The etching has been further painted in and by putting the etching plate in acid for a long time, the edges are sharply etched in. The etching is framed but has a broken glass and needs to be replaced. It is etching 10/50
