Product description
Beautiful screen print in size 85x105 cm in colors red and black.
Esther Sluiter (Geldrop, 1973) graduated in 1996 as a teacher of drawing and art history and as an orthopedagogical visual designer at the Academy of Visual Arts in Maastricht. Her graphic work has been awarded with several major art prizes: the Royal Netherlands Graphics Prize and an honorable mention at the Ilse Frankenthal Graphics Prize. Esther's work is represented by, among others, the De Buck gallery in Ghent and the Visual Arts Foundation and the Southeast Center for Visual Arts in Amsterdam.
Esther has a combined professional practice: She works as an activity supervisor in a protected housing location and as a visual artist. The combination of activities ensures fruitful cross-pollination. Ideas and projects arise in both areas of work that feed and reinforce each other. The emergence of growing memory is a prime example of this. In 2011, this project received the Cordaan incentive prize.
