Product description
The BA3 Chair was Ernest Race's first design for Race Furniture. The design was first exhibited at the "Britain Can Make It" exhibition in 1946 and was awarded a gold medal at the 1954 Milan Triennial. In a time of limited resources, the BA3 manufacturing process was revolutionary and made use of recycled materials, including aluminum from discarded aircraft and upholstery made from recycled lightweight cotton fabric from the RAF. Early examples of the BA3 are on display at MOMA in New York and the Victoria & Albert in London.
The seats, early versions, are heavily used and still in their original condition.
