Product description
Rare Scandinavian Design low bench as part of the Trybo - series, designed in 1964 by Edvin Helseth to furnish
one of the multiple sleeping cabins in the Norwegian Trysil ski resort. Characteristics of the Trysil furniture are the use of pine, the square angles, no screws, nails nor glue; just wooden pins to connect the segments. Note the similarity with the Les Arcs series of furniture by Charlotte Perriand. The Trybo-series won the Norwegian design award in 1967. The bench consists of 2 (signed) pine stands and a solid pine shelf that fits perfectly in the slits of the stands. Because the stands are loose, you can position them as you wish; in the middle or at the end of the shelf. Chairs and tables from this series are more commonly seen, this bench however is extremely rarely seen and offered.
