Sculpture: Glossy Widow by Eddy Stikkelorum
Widows' is a series of sculptures on high pedestals specially made for a solo exhibition in the Staten Galerie in The Hague (January-February 1995). The materials differ per sculpture and are examples of the experimental character of Eddy's sculptures in that period.
Glossy Widow' actually doesn't really belong to the series, but it did originate at the same time. This image is manufactured in two formats. A large version for outdoor installation (edition of 3 units) and a smaller version for indoor installation (edition of 9 units). All 'Glossy Widows' consist of cast aluminum which is then polished to a high gloss.
Marble cube size: 15 cm x 15 cm x15 cm.
Aluminium sculpture: 33.5 cm x 20 cm x 7.5 cm.
Signed on the bottom.. see photos.
The sculpture has some signs of age (slightly dull and mottled at the bottom and the polished top is slightly scratched), but is overall in good condition, see photos.
