The Soft Pad Chair EA 222 by Charles and Ray Eames has a high back and a low seat and offers ultimate comfort thanks to the chair's tilting mechanism, which is adjustable to the weight of the individual user. The Soft Pad Group's design dates back to 1969. In terms of both construction and shape, the Soft Pad Chairs are similar to the design of the Aluminum Group. However, their sewn-on cushions provide a striking contrast to the slim aluminum profile. The Soft Pad Chairs are softer and more luxurious than the chairs from the Aluminum Group, yet retain the same sleek shape. The chairs conform to the body and provide exceptional seating comfort. Description:Back and seat: high-backed chair. Five sewn-on cushions with polyurethane foam covered with track fabric. Side profiles and cross profiles in die-cast aluminum, with a chrome finish. Seat mechanism: adjustable back tilt. Armrests: die-cast aluminum, with a chrome finish Base: four-star base in die-cast aluminum with a chrome finish. On the armrests there are some dots of chrome. This is not very strange for a 38-year-old chair.
