Oil on canvas, approx. 94x94 cm, including frame approx. 100x100 cm. With his characteristic beard, artist Dirk Annokkeé (1937) is a striking figure in Amstelveen. Dirk was educated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. He found the magical realistic paintings that he initially made boring. That is why he drastically changed course in the late 1970s. “It was quite a struggle to go from the restrained painting to the exuberant, but I arrived at an expressive way of painting that suits me completely.” Bought personally from the artist in his studio.
