Diaz Costa dish for Puigdemont in hand-glazed ceramic with fish motif. Diaz Costa is a ceramist from the Puigdemont family workshop in La Bisbal d'Empordà, Catalonia. Superb decorative work of fish that seem to be in motion in their natural environment. A unique work of art and collector's item, the stylistic representation of this decoration elevates ceramic production to the level of graphic art. Red clay dish with hand-painted decoration depicting two fish in blue-green gradient enamel, green and yellow seaweed and a small starfish. Brown background and blue rim. Enamels worked in volume, remarkable to the touch. Unsigned piece, although the decoration is characteristic and highly recognizable of Puigdemont's work, 1960s. Very good overall condition, with a slight dent on the rim (see photos). Traces of pearls on the back of the piece, indicating the artisanal aspect of the kiln firing. Dimensions 27 cm diameter and 3.5 cm height.
