Product description
Danish XL pendant lamp called 'Fibonacci' designed by Sophus Frandsen in 1963. This lamp concerns the largest model with a diameter of 61 (!) cm.
The pendant lamp was manufactured by Fog & Mørup at the time and was one of the most expensive lamps sold by the company. It received a gold medal (Leipzig Messe, 1967) and the iF Product Design Award (1968).
The rings in different sizes give the lamp a playful and timeless look. The diffuser at the bottom that is missing in many cases is still present here. It prevents glare and provides a nice diffused light.
Sophus Frandsen graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1953.
For more than half a century he researched and taught at the same Academy about the nature of light and its practical application.
Sophus Frandsen died in 2013.
The lamp is in nice vintage condition with some slight signs of use in the form of small scratches that are barely noticeable.
