Beautiful Dutch vintage safari design chair designed in the 60s by J.G. Steenkamer meubelfabrieken in Gouda. It’s a characteristic sturdy chair with good seating comfort. This rare item exudes design by paying attention to the sturdy wooden frame, felt cover and leather straps with copper buckles. Some say Karin Mobring (IKEA) has copied this design to create the famous Diana safari chairs. You can recognize the Creafort chairs when looking at the armrests and the beam at the back where the leather belts are strapped on. The chair is in good condition considering its age.
