Product description
A beautiful white glazed ceramic fruit bowl on a pedestal, with a lovely openwork design. This is handmade work of the highest quality, with clean cuts and a very successful glaze. It's marked "handmade" underneath with a monogram, a capital m. According to my research, it was produced in Malicorne by the Bourg-joly earthenware factory, which has been in existence since 1747. The person in charge of the Malicorne ceramics museum confirmed that it was made during the Moreau period (Jules Moreau and his descendants), between 1918 and 1993. But the person I found it with has always seen it in the family home, so it probably dates from before 1970. The Bourg-joly earthenware factory still produces a model fairly close to this one today, using the same 18th-century openwork techniques. The difference with other factories offering this type of bowl is also noteworthy: this one is in one piece, unlike many others whose foot and bowl are joined by a very unsightly piece of metal. This bowl is in perfect condition, with no cracks or chips, just a few marks under the base. It measures 21 cm high with a maximum diameter of 23.5 cm.
