Description: Concerns one of 2 lithographs that belonged to a deluxe edition of the Dutch oeuvre book Corneille by Pierre Restany. Published by Édition Cercle d'Art and Uitgeverij Uniepers in 2003. Corneille was one of the founders and one of the most important representatives of the Cobra movement. He was a very prolific artist and created an enormous amount of paintings, sculptures and graphics. Corneille painted with a wide variety of motifs. Also notable are the different ways of drawing and painting. He was strongly influenced by the work of Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee and the surrealists. He developed his own powerful and colorful style only after Cobra was over.
