Unique find for collectors and lovers of vintage Schunga, erotica art. Vintage strung collection of Asian (Chinese) erotic Schunga panels etched on bovine bone. This work consists of 10 threaded panels with detailed erotic images. As far as I could discover, these were given to the bride as a "dowry" to inspire a successful wedding night. Each scene measures 3.8cm wide and 9.5cm high, the whole piece measures 35cm overall Very good condition! Early Mid - Century. This is an example of traditional Asian tile art. Often characterized by detailed and delicate subjects representing scenes of daily life, nature and sometimes erotic themes. These were very often etched on ceramics, porcelain as well as (bovine) bone and resin. Erotic art has a long tradition in Asian cultures.
