Product description
Beautiful artwork by Cole Morgan, made in '86. Incl frame, with no signs of use, and catalog. About the artist: Cole Morgan (New York City, 1950) Cole Morgan grew up in New Mexico. This aspect, growing up in a land of the "cowboys and Indians" is strongly reflected in his work. Especially in his older works. Cole not only makes beautiful paintings but also works on paper, silk screens as well as spatial works. Cole lived in the Netherlands for a number of years but has chosen to live and work in Antwerp. Cole's beautiful work is widely appreciated around the globe. Cole Morgan received his degree, Bachelor of Arts, in 1971 from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He then moved to Europe, studied art history and lithography in Florence, Italy, and took classes at the Free Academy in The Hague in 1973 and 1974. After college, he taught drawing and painting at the York Road School in Dublin, Ireland. He paints in the style of abstract expressionism. Cole uses collage techniques similar to those introduced at the beginning of the 20th century. His compositions consist of several layers, always based on mathematical laws. Shells, feathers, pebbles, pieces of paper, cardboard or wood, sometimes houses and churches form the figurative elements. His work can be seen in exhibitions around the world such as in Seoul, Zurich, Maastricht (TEFAF), Cologne, Dublin, Hong Kong, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Beijing and Chicago.
