Bought this folding screen 40 years ago myself in Burma, have now started living smaller and no longer have room for it.
Each panel is individually painted with a meticulous technique.
The screen consists of 5 panels 46 cm wide and 179 cm high, thickness of the teak is 2 cm - total weight is 35 kilos.
Front and back are both painted.
A unique object, not made in series, there is no 2nd copy of this.
some age cracks are visible in the panels above the paintings, not in the paintings themselves. Possibly to be viewed on site here in The Hague. The hinges are rusted, possibly to be replaced or painted.
