Product description
The photo we offer here shows a landscape in California, which Christo and his wife Jeanne-Claude reshaped in 1991 by planting no fewer than 1,760 large, yellow umbrellas, 6 m high and over 8 m in diameter. This was actually only one side of a double project: at the same time they did exactly the same thing in Japan, where they planted 1340 (blue) umbrellas in the landscape. The whole project cost 26 million USD.
To finance their projects, the Christos took (or had) photos of them, among other things. Those photos were afterwards published by the Barcelona publishing house Polígrafo on 300 copies.
