Catteau began working at the Porzellanmanufaktur Nymphenburg in Munich until 1906, when he went to work at the Boch Frères pottery in La Louvière. Already in 1907, he became head designer there. He built on the Art Nouveau style and introduced the enamel cloisonné technique there in the mid-1920s. He continued to work here until 1945. Catteau Collection Charles Catteau's designs did not go unnoticed, and he was soon discovered by Brussels collector Marcel Stal. In 1999, the private collection, Catteau Collection, was donated to the King Baudouin Foundation.
