Product description
Large ceramic lamp base from Spara Keramik
Spara Ceramic was founded in 1947 by Ludwig Spang in the German town of Ransbach-Baumbach, northeast of Koblenz. The name Spara is a combination of the first two letters of the founder's surname and the first two letters of the name of the town.
The region around Ransbach-Baumbach has been famous for its ceramic production for centuries.
From the 1960s the factory started modern production of ceramics. The main designer of the factory (from the early 1970s) was Halidan Kutlu.
Kutlu was born in Turkey and many of his designs have a Middle Eastern look.
This also applies to this lamp base of model 584, which is also produced as a vase.
Dimensions:
The lamp is 43 cm high (including socket).
The diameter of the lamp is 20 cm at the base and 12 cm at the top.
The lamp base is made in brown and green and has a robust, earthy appearance, partly due to the applied floral relief.
The lamp base is in good condition and has an E27 fitting with switch (on the fitting) and a new white cord of 150 cm and a new black Bakelite European 2-pin plug.
