Cees KORTLANG (Harderwijk 1926 - Harderwijk 2008)
Painter, graphic artist, ceramist.
Education: Cees Kortlang attended the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague from 1946 to 1952.
After completing his education, Cees Kortlang moved to Amsterdam, where he moved into a studio home in a neighborhood where many other artists also lived. Although his first art was figurative, Kortlang started working abstractly from 1958 onwards. Already at the start of his career, Kortlang received positive reviews, and in 1961 he was a participant in the Liga Nieuwe Beelden exhibition in Amsterdam's Stedelijk Museum. From 1966, color took over from black in his work.
