Plastic design classic by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli early 70s, model Planta. Iconic space age style, functional and highly decorative. With six folding "hooks" and two extendable discs for the umbrella. Reinforcement in the base, making the coat rack sturdy and stable. Dimensions: 168 cm. Base diameter 38 cm.
Originally in white color (see white squares under the fold-out hooks), but discolored over the many years to a cream/beige shade. A very common defect. Small piece of plastic broken off at the retractable umbrella handles. Streaks here and there on the stem of the coat rack and at the bottom of the base. The umbrella handles slide out of the handle a bit stiffly. The coat rack is in a visibly used condition, but still has a nice striking appearance.
