"A new type of chair, made entirely of leather, which is often cloned today". This is how Mario Bellini describes the Cab armchair, a bestseller that was designed in the 1970s and is now an iconic piece in the I Contemporanei collection. Cab is the first chair in the world characterized by a self-supporting structure in core leather, inspired by the relationship between skeleton and skin. Its upholstery consists of 16 leather parts, each of which is individually punched and then subjected to 14 manual processes. The cut pieces are only sewn together after a scraping process that reduces the thickness of the leather sections to be combined. The cover is then fitted onto a steel skeleton like a tailor-made suit and closed with zippers. In addition to the extensive color palette for the leather chair, the range also includes a version made of pigmented core leather in black, brown and reddish brown.
The clear lines of the chair are underlined by selected, exquisite materials and the best workmanship. With this chair, you are bringing an exquisite designer chair into your home, your company or your institution.
