Product description
NOTE THIS IS THE SILVER PLATED SET! (EPSS = ELECTROPLATED STAINLESS STEEL) WITH APPLEWOOD HANDLES. The Alessi factory was founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi. At that time, ornamental dinnerware was made in nickel, chrome and silver-plated copper mainly for the more expensive catering establishments of the time. When son Carlo Alessi became head of the design department in 1935, the company grew into the stylish design factory we know today. In 1945, Carlo Alessi designed this beautiful coffee service called Bombé, initially in stainless steel with Bakelite handles and knobs, and a little later in this silver-plated service with applewood handles and knobs. This set can be found at the Brooklyn Museum in New York, among other places. This set includes a coffee pot, milk jug and sugar bowl. The set has never been used and always used as decoration, yet there are some signs of use, mainly due to sliding back and forth during cleaning, see attached photos. Dimensions: Teapot: Height 16cm including knob Lid opening 10cm Width 22,5cm from spout to handle Sugar bowl: Height 11cm including knob Width 16cm including handles Milk jug: Height 12cm to spout Width 16cm from spout to handle All parts have the eagle and Officina Alessi EPSS ITALY engraved at the bottom The set is in good condition with minor traces of age.
Use marks bottom side due to sliding.
