Hans J. Wegner's 6-seat CH327 dining table from 1962 has an unusual design where the table top almost appears to float.
The teak/oak version has oak legs and a teak table top.
It is in good condition.
The 1962 CH327 Dining Table by Hans J. Wegner is a good example of how creativity combined with excellent craftsmanship can result in a remarkable and exciting design. The CH327 is a solid wood dining table with soft edges and rounded legs that narrow toward the floor. The wood grains follow the length of the table top which itself is supported by 3 separate rails. Under each rail runs a side rail on each side that runs the length of the table. Between the side rail and the table top is a space, giving the impression that the table top is floating. For support, there are two removable legs at each end connected by a cross profile. The legs and profiles give the table transverse stability , while the side rails do the same lengthwise. The side rails are connected high to the table legs and are narrower between them to increase legroom at the seats. Today, the CH327 is available in two lengths: 190 cm for six people and 248 cm for eight people. Both tables can be extended at each end with a 40-cm-wide extension piece, increasing the number of seats to 10 and 12 respectively. The elegant CH327 Wegner table is suitable as a dining table or a conference table. It can also be used very well as a desk.
