Here's a pair of sublime large crystal candlesticks in a shape reminiscent of a starfish, whose brilliance and beautiful transparency will create a sensation on any festive table. They're beautifully shaped, with long "arms" extending upwards, smoothly curved, with no abrupt edges. They are stamped with Daum France crystal on one side near the base (it's hard to see, but on the photo against the dark background you can see the signature). The Daum company was founded in 1878 in Nancy by Jean Daum, and the "free-form" design style of these candlesticks dates from 1940. But from the look of the engraved signature, these candlesticks would date from the 70s or 80s and would be "first choice" (on second choice pieces, the signature is Daum Nancy). They are in very good condition, with good transparency (difficult to show in photos), a tiny chip on the edge of the candle slot on one and tiny, almost invisible scratches. There are a few "lines" in the (original) crystal, barely visible when viewed through the light, otherwise totally invisible. They fit into a circle about 20cm in diameter, with a maximum height of about 8cm. Each weighs around 900g. The candle slot measures 2 cm in diameter and 1.5 cm deep.
