While traveling through Africa, William was struck by the slenderness and sheer beauty of the branches and trees scattered across the land. Back in Europe, driven by his fascination, William sketched lighting objects that captured the character and emotion of the vegetation in his arid surroundings. Soon he moved from the drawing board to the workshop, where he spent hours working and shaping metal into prototypes. A light sculpture was born, which we all now know by the name HOLLYWOOD.
