Product description
Pattern is a bookcase designed by Alfredo Häberli: the original version of his design was voted "Best Shelving" of the year by Wallpaper Magazine in January 2007.
There are only 2 Pattern bookcases ever built to the original design, which we have kept in our warehouse and are now offering in 2 separate ads on Whoppah.
Later we decided to offer Pattern with an aluminum composite material and a back panel, as the original required too much work and craftsmanship. Although the later versions are absolutely beautiful, "nothing beats the original" with its expressive and dominant character.
Dimensions: 100x200x36 cm (we also offer a 200x200x36 cm version, see our other ad)
Materials / construction: open structure, freestanding, made of MDF with black edges, covered with white HPL (RAL 9003).
More about the design Zurich-based ALFREDO HÄBERLI, born in Argentina, chose basic geometric shapes and stacked them on top of each other to create interesting patterns. Both the variation and the contours give the furniture a fascinating and visual form. Furniture as sculpture, suitable for storing books and displaying objects.
Pattern has been exhibited, among others, at the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich in 2008 and at the Interior Trends exhibition of the IMM 2010 in Cologne, marking the eternal urge for experimentation by designers. Moreover, it has been widely published in art books and magazines for both architects and consumers. Pattern is quite heavy and therefore fragile. Therefore, we store Pattern in a wooden box and seriously interested potential buyers can see Pattern up close in our warehouse. Images: Image 1-5: the offered cabinet Image 6-8: the same cabinet, but the larger version, with the designer and freestanding at the Interieur Biennale in Kortrijk, to give an impression Image 9: the offered cabinet and its packaging Image 10: the back with some 'chipped' spots, hardly visitble from some distance.
Condition: although not visible if you place the cabinet against a wall, there are some 'chipped' spots at the back, hardly visible from some distance. They can be 'camouflaged' with touch-up paint. The last image shows the back. Upon request we can send detail images of these spots. Also some remains of the used glue.
