The work is signed in the lower right corner by the artist. About Berrie Martens (1959) Berrie Martens, born 28-3-1959 in Chaam (Noord-Brabant). He worked as an entrepreneur in the furniture industry and decided in 1994 to give his life another direction and become a painter. With unadulterated enthusiasm, he captures his perceptions in color.
Berrie Martens is best known as the spiritual father of his "Happy People," cheerful colorful abstract dolls. Since 1998, he has put numerous 'happy people' on canvas. The artist's message is, "Happy people make people happy. Martens exhibits these happy people and his paintings in surprising locations. He gave grand 'acts' in New York, Berlin, Paris, Barcelona and Amsterdam.
