Le petit voleur du souk
Marseille, France
Product description
The Beni Ouarain or Beni Ourain are the most famous carpets from the Moroccan Middle Atlas.
Its notoriety is no longer in doubt, they are true works of art.
The Beni Ouarain tribe consists of several different Berber tribes, some of whom still make a living from sheep herding in the Atlas. The sheep produce exceptional, high-quality wool, and it is from this wool in natural colors such as white, ivory and ecru that the famous Beni Ouarain rugs are woven.
The audacity and creativity of the women of the Berber tribes in the Atlas allow them to create freely from their own experience, perfectly combining shapes and colors where only vegetable dyes are used.
This contemporary artistic approach specific to each woman of the Berber tribes ensures you a unique and rare piece.
The Béni Ouarain rug is woven from 100% natural sheep's wool, which gives it a soft texture. It is hand-knotted on a traditional wooden loom using ancestral know-how passed down to each generation.
Each rug has imperfections and an irregular appearance, the manufacturing being artisanal, you have the assurance that you are offering yourself a timeless piece of history, authenticity and tradition.
