This non-figurative lithograph by the Swedish artist Bengt Orup (1916 – 1996) is framed with a passe-partout behind glass. The frame is 41.5 x 2.5 x 51.5 cm. (H x W x L) the image is 28.5 x 39.5. The lithograph is hand signed and numbered (number 88) and is in good condition.

Bengt Orup was a pioneer of Swedish post-war modernism.
In 1946 Orup went to Paris again for a year, where he experimented for the first time with pure, geometric shapes. During the late 1940s and early 1950s Orup created a series of l'art concret paintings with refined geometric shapes and strong contrasts.
Art Concret was an avant-garde group of artists founded in Paris in 1929 that championed a geometric abstract art closely related to the aesthetics of neo-plasticism.
