Product description
Beautiful set of 3 nesting tables, or of a coffee table with 2 side tables by the brand Bethcraft. The quality of the material and craftsmanship of the maker radiates throughout this beautiful set. All three tables are beautiful in quality, heavy for their kind and feature a beautiful top, including very nice rounded corners and beautiful wood design. The teak wood is again in a beautiful condition and the tops have no scratches or scratches, they are also coated to protect them from moisture and dirt. The special feature of this set is that it consists of a larger (coffee) table with 2 tables underneath, in addition to a set of nesting tables, this is actually a coffee table with two side tables. Very exclusive and decorative set for the real connoisseurs! About the manufacturer and designers. Until the early 1960s, Beithcraft produced very traditional furniture, including Queen Anne-style furniture in walnut. When designer Frank Guille began designing for Beithcraft they started to produce "modern furniture" for which they are still so appreciated today. Guille also designed for the firms Kandya and Austin Suite. He had studied under top designers Robin Day and Kaare Klint, bringing modern British and Danish influences. Designer Val Rossi designed for Kirkcaldy-based manufacturer A.H. McIntosh under Tom Robertson in the early 1960s. Around 1963/64, Rossi seems to have taken over from Guille at Beithcraft, and it was Val Rossi who designed most of the striking Beithcraft sideboards and furniture that are so sought after worldwide today. Beithcraft was acquired by competitor McIntosh in the 1970s while Rossi continued to work for them. By the late 1970s, tastes changed again and, amazingly, demand for Rossi's sublime designs began to wane. This coffee table is dated at the bottom and from this late period in the 1970s, and a wonderful example of timeless design. Revisited by early adopters of vintage furniture at the turn of the century and highly prized for their design and workmanship, Beitcraft furniture is now highly sought after among enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
