Product description
Low coffee table designed by architect Paolo Piva in the 1980s for B&B Italia.
This Alanda table is now a classic design in the world of contemporary design furniture. The geometric base is lacquered steel. The beautifully polished tempered glass top is 10 mm thick. The corners are rounded and are in perfect condition.
There have been reproductions made in the past but this table is really the original and is from the first owner. I bought the table in 1985 at the modern interior store on Minervaplein in Amsterdam but unfortunately I no longer have a purchase receipt.
There is a small chip on the underside of the glass near the middle style of the base in two places but this is certainly not noticeable or disturbing. Is still a fantastic and contemporary table with a strong design.
Paolo Piva studied architecture in Venice and had lessons from Carlo Scarpa among others. He then had a fruitful career in architecture , design and applied arts.
Size:120x120 cm
Height: 26 cm
Thickness of glass: 1 cm
This table has been carefully used in a clean environment with little traffic. The table has also been in storage tightly covered for a while The two small chips at the bottom of the glass edge occurred when moving the glass plate. It is heavy and should remain level. It now appears that many similar tables have the same damage. Too bad, but that is what the price is for.
