Morning Glory floor lamp from Aqua Creations. A design by Ayala Serfaty. Country of origin: Israel. Period 1950. Special because of its beautiful organic design inspired by nature. Material: crushed silk and a heavy metal frame. Considering its age, it is still in good vintage condition.

Ayala Serfaty has blazed a unique trail in the world of contemporary design since the 1990s, creating and manufacturing conceptual lamps and furniture. Her work has been described by scholars as 'multidisciplinary', as a 'fusion of art, craft and design', as blurring the line between the natural and the abstract.
Ayala Serfaty was born in Tel Aviv, in 1962. She studied fine arts at the Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. In 1996 she founded Aqua Creations Lighting. Serfaty has been exhibiting in museums and galleries all over the world for almost thirty years.
Serfaty's work was recently acquired by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and is included in permanent collections around the world.
The lamp has a few small signs of use, but this is not noticeable.
