Axel Vervoordt, Belgium 1980, coffee table in solid oak and bamboo. Conceived and produced by the major Belgian decorator and art dealer in the 1980s. Rolls of bamboo were ordered from China to cover these custom designed coffee tables. In this fairly early piece from his career, you can see his eye for Japan and the Wabi-Sabi lifestyle. Created at the time as a trend piece, it is now slowly becoming a sought after important historical piece. Would fit into a rustic modern Zen-inspired setting.
