Product description
For sale is a luxurious, original Traneka mosaic coffee table in mint condition. OBJECT: “Town by the Water” coffee table Version: Padouk STYLE: Mid Century / Danish DESCRIPTION: The table top of a Traneka table is made up of 3,864 individual, upright, solid woods using numerous different types of precious wood. Each plate has its own Design and character. The elaborate surface treatment according to precisely defined regulations ensures that the surface has a uniquely beautiful, matt silky shine. A special oil treatment gives the plate good resistance to daily wear and tear. The choice of wood types for the legs and frames is tailored precisely to the play of colors of the table tops. Each piece of furniture has a brass plate with the series and number as well as the name of the architect and designer responsible for the artistic design. Anyone who knows a little about carpentry or woodworking can imagine how time-consuming and how carefully it takes to produce a table of this quality! And not just with the table top, but also with the connection between the table legs and the frames. A special brass screw connection was constructed here, the cube head of which was fitted by hand into the table leg as a design element, visible from the outside. MANUFACTURER: Tranekaer Furniture, Tranekaer Castle, Denmark DESIGNER: Table design: Gorm Lindum Christensen, originally a furniture maker, architect for furniture design and the associated research and activities for “Industriel Dansk Design”; including exhibitions for the Danish Foreign Ministry. Mosaic: Rolf Middelboe, a trained graphic artist and fabric printer at the art academy, was chairman of the Industrial Danish Designers (IDD). His pieces can be found in the Museum of Modern Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum, among others. MATERIAL: Table frame: Padouk is a fine African hardwood. Padouk is one of the most colorful and technically high-quality woods in Africa. Mosaic: Combination of American and African precious woods such as Afrormosia, Tiama, Sucupira, Bibolo, Kosipo. HUE: Reddish brown tones from light to dark brown Info: The photos are highly exposed so that the 1a condition can be seen in detail! Reddish tones become redder and colors generally become brighter. The shadow areas or the areas not directly illuminated by the photo light best reproduce the colors in nature. Shininess in the photos or grayish or milky areas are also due to the exposure or lighting (reflections). The surfaces are semi-matt to semi-glossy. DIMENSIONS: approx. width: 134cm; Depth: 81.5cm; Height: 50cm; CONDITION: Stunning and like new! It was lovingly completely restored by the restorer using traditional and natural materials. Here too you are welcome to look, you won't find it in better condition anywhere. ________________________________________ FORMER NEW PRICE / LIST PRICE: Unfortunately it is not known, probably a small fortune.
