This is the large painting on embossed leather by Conrad Kiesel ( 1846-1921 ). These art nouveau works, basically the earliest version of mixed media, on leather are never signed and all date from around 1885. This particular work is called: Any with fan. Conrad Kiesel made various editions of this work. Conrad Kiesel was born in Düsseldorf and attended the Königlichen Akademie der Baukunst Architektur and was taken under the wing by Fritz Schaper for his sculptures he then later went to Berlin to work on his painting with Fritz Paulsen het then want on to Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and became a scholar Wilhelm Sohn.
