André van der Meer
Rotterdam, Netherlands
Product description
Very 'gers' painting of Rotterdam in perfect condition. With a size of 140x180 cm, this is an eye-catcher for everyone who cares about Rotterdam; for your home or business. I bought it myself about 7 years ago from Arno Overdevest, but due to a move we unfortunately no longer have room for it.
Arno Overdevest was born on 12-10-1956 in Berkel en Rodenrijs. He has been working as a visual artist since 1978. He is self-taught in the field of painting.
He mainly works with themes that go back to his childhood, around the farm and in the polder, where his father had a timber trade and scrap yard.
Every year he starts a new theme, but also regularly picks up the threads of previous themes. Some examples of the themes used by Arno are bulls, rocking horses, chickens and pigs. This painting is from the series 'Rotterdamse Haven'. The first works of a new theme are quite naturalistic, gradually he works towards abstractions. Arno often works straight from the tube, creating speed and movement in his paintings.
Arno already has several exhibitions at home and abroad to his name.
