Product description
Antoni Tapies i Puig was born on December 13, 1923 in Barcelona. He is one of the pioneers of the post-war Spanish avant-garde. Tàpies started out as a surrealist artist and was influenced by Paul Klee and Joan Miró, but soon began to paint abstract-expressionistically, first in the direction of 'arte povera', then with a spontaneous handwriting in paint and a lot of symbolic language; Eastern thinking had an influence (calligraphy). This lithograph is signed (bottom right corner, A Tapies, in pencil) and is number 146 of a print of 300 (146/300 bottom left corner). The work comes with a certificate of authenticity provided by Salerno i Fillis. It was bought by me in 2014. The item is offered WITHOUT frame.
There are no visible signs of use.
