Product description
Antique, representative piece from the time of the still few muffle colors for the 3rd firing, the color firing. This elaborately painted, museum-quality vase with 2 molded noses was produced by Fürstenberg at the end of the 18th century. It is painted with early colors made of various metal oxides and a flux, the mixtures of which only a few manufacturers knew how to use with foresight after color firing and whose design appears rather modern today. The vase (viewed only as a vessel) is approx. 21 cm high and approx. 11 cm in diameter and (if intended as a water or wine carafe) pours a good 0.75 liters exactly over the pronounced belly without dripping. It is unrestored and in almost perfect condition, with an extra piece of porcelain from the manufacture at the top of the spout on the right (clearly visible as a small bubble under the glaze in photos 7 & 8). Gold abrasion on the foot and upper rim.
Vases were Fürstenberg's most important products in the 18th century and the company was justifiably famous for them. The vase is marked with the underglaze blue F and the letters AM or AH, as well as WN.
In over 225 years of turbulent history, it has obviously been very well looked after and is simply "Up To Date" in this extraordinary design!
In my other offers you will find an antique sugar bowl with lid from Fürstenberg around 1760.
In very good condition, gold abrasion to the foot and upper rim.
