Annemarie Vink (1960) focuses in her work on everyday things or activities and thus shows the beauty of everyday life. Her flowers, still lifes and interiors talk about time and temporality, about transience.
It is usually her immediate environment that is the subject of her paintings. An environment in which a human presence is always palpable, whether it is in the carefully chosen flowers, in the still life of cherished objects or in the braided hair of a young woman.
The personal, domestic scenes are both intimate and recognizable. Annemarie plays with the visual, resulting in special compositions and sparkling colors. She paints realistic and elaborate details but also leaves sketchy and unfinished parts. This gives the viewer the opportunity to complete the work themselves.
